2.6-mile Rocky Neck State Park Run, Niantic, CT
Rocky Neck State Park is a 710 acre, family-friendly recreation area located in Niantic, CT that draws hikers, cyclists, picnickers, campers, and beachgoers from all over the state.
In this short, flat loop along the park's paved access roads, you will encounter a variety of scenery, including woodlands, campgrounds and salt marshes. Be on the lookout for cranes, herons and ospreys as you pass by the park's vast salt marshes.
Parking: Parking at Rocky Neck is free during the winter season. In the summer, parking on the weekends is $10.00 for CT residents and $15.00 for out-of-state visitors. On the weekdays, parking is $7.00 for CT residents and $10.00 for out-of-state visitors.
Alternate Route: To extend this run into a 3.4-mile jogging route, you can park at Bridebrook Park, located .4 mile from Rocky Neck State Park off of West Main Street (Route 156). Parking is free of charge at Bridebrook Park, but you will have to be aware of cars on West Main Street as there are no sidewalks.
Directions from I-95: Take Exit 72 off of 1-95. At the end of the ramp, take a left onto Route 156 (West Main Street) and an immediate right into Rocky Neck State Park.
