4.6-mile Quaker Hill Run, Waterford, CT
Begin this challenging 4.6-mile run at the acme of a large hill in the Williams School Athletic Complex parking lot, located at 120r Bloomingdale Road, Quaker Hill, CT.
Take a left out of the parking lot down the long hill. At the bottom, you can continue along the sidewalk and jog past a small creek and the Waterford North Baseball Fields. Bloomingdale Road ends at Old Colchester Road.
Follow the sidewalk to the right, and then take another right onto the sidewalk of Old Norwich Road. Here you will pass by Smith Cove, where you may encounter geese, ducks, and swans.
Continue jogging up the steady incline of Old Norwich Road towards the Conn College campus.
After taking a right onto the heavily-wooded Gallows Lane, end the route by taking another right back onto Bloomingdale and jogging up the hill to the parking lot.
Directions from I-95 South:
Go across the Gold Star Bridge connecting Groton to New London. Take the Frontage Road exit #83 (second off the bridge). Take the Colman Street exit. Take a right onto Colman Street. At the first light, take a left onto Bayonet Street which turns into Bloomingdale Road. Go 1.2 miles and the Williams School Athletic Complex is on the left.
Directions from I-95 North:
After you have passed the Crystal Mall exit, take your next exit (#82A) onto Frontage Road. Take the Colman Street exit. Take a right onto Colman Street. At the second light, take a left onto Bayonet Street which turns into Bloomingdale Road. Go 1.2 miles and the Williams School Athletic Complex is on the left.
Directions from 395 and Rt. 32:
Take 395 South and take a left exit onto Rt. 32. Once on Rt. 32, go to the fifth stop light (2 miles) and take a right onto Benham Road. At the stop sign (the end), take a left onto Williams Street. Go .2 mile and take a right onto Gallows Lane. At the stop sign (the end), take a right onto Bloomingdale Road. Go .6 mile to the Williams School Athletic Complex on the left.
